Background

Deliver a clear and visually distinctive flier that educates customers on helmet features and adjustments while reinforcing the brand’s premium, technical image.

This project involved creating a visually engaging flier to be included in the product packaging of a custom helmet. The primary goal was to highlight key features of the helmet while providing customers with clear instructions on adjustments and important functions. To make the design stand out, we adopted a diagram-inspired aesthetic, pairing technical accuracy with a clean, illustrative style.

We developed custom toon-style shaders to render the helmet, giving it a distinct look that differentiated it from standard product photography. Leveraging the client’s CAD files, we also created a fully dissected visualization demonstrating strap adjustments—an asset the client had never had before. This detailed visual was not only used in the flier but also became a valuable resource for customer support and online documentation, serving as a consistent reference for future communications.

Conclusion & Reflection

This project demonstrated the value of merging technical rendering with user-focused design. By using toon-style shaders, we achieved a style that was both approachable and precise, enhancing visual comprehension without sacrificing detail. The dissected strap adjustment asset proved especially impactful, serving not only for the flier but also as a reusable reference across multiple customer touchpoints. This approach underscored how strategic visual design can bridge the gap between product complexity and user understanding, creating long-term utility beyond the initial scope.
